Our reawaken services are designed to transform the individual. Through identification, observation, release and acceptance practices we guide our community to a higher sense of self-awareness. Developing these practices is the doorway to self-healing and sustainable growth. Building personal resilience to obtain personal effectiveness is not common today. Most of us are stressed out to the point that our body begins to fail. Modern medicine’s answer to this is medication and treatment. All this may be necessary if the ship is heading in the wrong direction or even worse sinking, but what if you want to turn the ship around? Many of us may not even be experiencing non-somatic symptoms and only somatic symptoms that have developed over time. Due to this it’s difficult to associate lifestyle and stress with these physical ailments.

As discussed on our nutrition therapy page the gut-brain axis (GBA) consists of bidirectional communication between the central nervous system (brain) and the enteric nervous system (neurons that scale the mucosal epithelium of our entire GI Tract), linking emotional and cognitive centers of the brain with peripheral functions. Although diet is one of the most important modifying factors of the microbiota gut-brain axis, so is stress regulation. Long term stress exposure, coupled with the influence of host genetics, can result in long-term modulation of stress related physiology and behavior. This bidirectional communication affects vagus nerve activity, gut hormone signaling, the immune system, tryptophan metabolism, microbial metabolites such as short chain fatty acids; which all affect physiology and behavior.

This is difficult for most people and care providers to understand, because they are unequipped with the tools to help. We are facing a multi prismatic attack and we need a multi prismatic approach therapeutically. Through your reawakening it’s important to understand you’re not alone. It’s important to know that we all experience moments, events and interactions that deplete us. You can’t change this, unless you are willing to lock yourself away from everything. But, how you respond to these challenging situations is what can differentiate you. You can shift yourself from producing cortisol and living in a high beta brain wave emotional environment, to producing DHEA and living in an an alpha and theta brain wave emotional environment. It’s important to remember that when your adrenal glands produce too much cortisol you will rapidly feel the onset of aging. Shifting your adrenal glands to produce less cortisol and more DHEA can help you live a longer, healthier life. Improve your relationships, energy levels, sleep and sexual performance; just to name a few areas of possible interest.

Qigong, when combined with standard treatment, can also help for a range of conditions including arthritis, low bone density, breast cancer, heart disease, heart failure, hypertension, Parkinson's disease, sleep problems, and stroke. Where yoga is valuable for the physically capable, Qigong is valuable for everyone.

Heart rate variability

Are you ready to learn how to self-regulate? Heart Rate Variability (HRV) measures the variation in time between each heartbeat. This variation is controlled by our autonomic nervous system (ANS). Our ANS influences our entire body, works behind the scenes, and runs off of experience & information we have hardwired into our body over our lifetime. HRV measurements help create more awareness of how we live, think, and how our behavior affects our nervous system and bodily functions. Low HRV by itself can not diagnose what a person is suffering from, however it is a beneficial predictor of all cause mortality.
